Disaster: Ubisoft and the Kingdom of Delayed Product

Kudgel informs of the latest episode of the perpetual situation comedy known as Ubisoft.

The videogame based on Lost was so terrible that when the company sent it to Sony for approval, they refused, saying "no, your game is too boring and has no gameplay, we don't want it on the Playstation 3." This videogame will beat records at being bad and will bomb really hard.

The next Splinter Cell game has been redone three times over already. Developers just can't seem to include good gameplay in it. That's part of why it got delayed. Same can be said about Rainbow Six Vegas 2. The story was abysmal and it was supposed to be a prequel to Vegas in the early stages of development. Developers then said it made no sense at all, because the first Vegas game finished with a "To Be Continued" screen. They delayed it to work on the story and add some maps.

Far Cry 2 has also been delayed because it was terrible. The game does not look like NEAR what has been shown. Even with the best PC available to the developers, the game just does not match what has been shown so far. Far Cry 2 is both bad and requires one hell of a machine (PC) to run.

UPDATE: The last bit is nonsense, Far Cry 2 is more or less the best thing to ever come out of Ubi Montreal. The first three titles...not looking so hot.

I like to watch TV.

1) Those who purchase Halo Wars will be treated to an exclusive sneak peak of Peter Jackson's Halo: Chronicles ala Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
2) That previously-mentioned virtual recreation of an existent earthquake from Eidos is called Downfall: San Francisco and takes place following the San Francisco Earthquake in 1906.
3) Saboteur is shaping up to be absolutely amazing, best WWII game in awhile likely.
4) Rare has a second 360 title slated for release this year and possibly a small XBLA affair (or two) in addition to this.
5) Rivalry of musical games with keyboard peripherals occurs in North America in future.
6) Blue Castle Games is working on a sequel to The Bigs, which could will see release this MLB season, the studio is also working on another racing sports title and an action title.
7) Sadly, a 30 Rock cell phone title is in the works for a release sometime this year.

UPDATE: I've been asked this one a bit.
What is that non-L.A. Noire PS3 exclusive from Rockstar?
The spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver from Rockstar San Diego.
Not true, I was wrong.

World to Kenya: Democracy Not Genocide

Last week, Kenya held a national election tainted with vote-tampering. It ended in a claim of victory for incumbent President Mwai Kibaki over the challenger Raila Odinga who had led the polls -- now Kenya's future hangs in the balance. Violence has broken out across the country, with roving gangs of machete-wielding youth terrorizing the population. Suddenly, this hopeful country could be sliding toward genocide.

We must not sit back and watch this nightmarish scenario unfold -- but we need to act fast. Archbishop Desmond Tutu has flown into Nairobi, joining the African Union in an effort to broker a power-sharing agreement and review the election results. But if talks are to succeed, foreign governments must avoid prematurely recognizing a fraudulently elected government and locking in their power. That's where we come in. Please send a note to your foreign minister today, asking them to withhold recognition of any Kenyan government until agreement is brokered and the election results are independently reviewed – you can do so using the simple online tool at the link below.

Jens Lekman for the win

This hopefully makes up for that gay construction worker and part-time hacker from Ohio who posted those awful Travis songs.
