1) Namco is bringing Family Ski stateside under the name Wii Ski or We Ski. How marketing managed to pull out that one baffles me, it is the epitome of deft.
2) Namco also has an possibly American-developed Wii cheerleading title, in which one uses the balance board for clandestine dancing operations and the nunchuck/Wiimote combo as pom poms. Namco, I feel strongly that you need to give those deft folks in marketing a breather, so I will do their work here, Wii Cheer or We Cheer it is.
3) The market of masses shalt not fret, the interesting and different new intellectual property that is Criterion's next game will appear on that waggly machine and that touching machine with two screens, amongst others, perhaps this year.
4) The title Kyle Gray is toiling on over at Tiburon is not just good, is not just addictive and utterly intoxicating, it is a sublime experience that is the best DS game coming out this year. Maybe he'll say something about it next week, maybe Tuesday, maybe between 10 and 11 AM. Also, that other game that may be discussed during that time, something called World of Goo is shaping up to be pretty good, looking to be one of the year's best titles. It is nice to see two Kyles doing their work to help the reputation of Kyles everywhere after the harm done to the name by Kyle Sampson.
5) The future for Iron Lore's next title is not too existent as they are in the throes of shutting down.
Thanks to Kenneth for this musical tip.
Also, plumbers should not remind one of ex-boyfriends. If they say they'll be there at 7:30, they shouldn't show up at 2:30. Maybe I should do something other than pick at random from the phone book.
UPDATE: Yeah, it's not so much Namco behind the Wii cheerleading title as it is THQ, it is so much that I misread what I was told. You would hope that I would not misread the words "American company" but I do. Yes, I am deft.
UPDATE TWO: Turns out the email was kind of vague and Namco has just registered the trademark We Cheer in Japan.
UPDATE THREE:...and in America.

That song is one of the only songs that has ever made me want to dance.
MS recently announced bringing it home for GDC. can we expect some awesome surprises to come our way on the marketplace next week?
will MS announce what the multiplatform title it is that they got as an exclusive?
holy crap, who is Kenneth?? and why isn't his musical choices listed here??? i need more music like this, with a quickness.
and you're awesome, surfer girl. keep on keeping on.....
Was Microsoft actually planning on releasing an built-in HD-DVD 360? Is the reason why there's a shortage of 360 because a new SKU is going to hit the market?
My name is Kyle..
with the amount of Kyle's in the gaming industry, I am obviously destined to work within it.
But by that logic I am destined to be in lots of places too.
Any news on ICO3 SurferGirl? By the way, are you flattered or perved out by the surfer girl bikini pictures? Sorry to sound so chauvinistic, but I think it's endearing the geeky male orientated gaming community imagines you as a girl who goes to beaches gets her kit off, does some surfing, then comes home and release inside information that she received from her surfing buddies!
Take it how you want, I don't mean any offence though.
I don't get what "Strong" means.
When is Double Dragon DS coming out?
My God,
You never answer when I ask exactly what do you do, besides make predictions and say they are fact? Like 80% of your stuff is wrong, it kills me when ppl link to your bogus site. Prove me wrong.
Why do you moderate the comments afraid?
How's The Agency looking?
This FFVII "port" you've talked about on occasion, is it going to get a graphic overhaul and be given HD graphics? Because that's what FFVII desperately needs.
I dont get you answer the question below mine and ignored my question all together....I'll pose it once again -
Sony made a recent job posting about a FPS for the PS3 that is under development any ideas on what it could be what could it be...?
And Since its almost GDC mind telling us a few games form the Microsoft horde that us mere mortals are completely unaware of...besides Gears 2,Bioshock 2 AND hALO cHRONICLES...ANY nEW ip'S?
aCCORDING TO sCRIBES THE vIVA PINATA TEAM IS working on a new title...KI 3 or Perfect dark 2?
Do Level 5 have any games planned for the PS3 outside of White Knight Chronicles?
so is it true what capcom (in the capcom forum) said? no RE5 this year? and i mean the game, not infos, news and trailers!
Any word on whether or not sega will bring Yakuza 3 to the US?
Warhawk Broken Mirror? A short-term reality? Or is it so far off we should just forget about it? That hint to Home in Dylan Jobes post, is it a signal that Home might be coming soon?
aaaaaaahhhhhhh, i just listened to that Midnight Juggernauts song again, are you teasing something to do with Katamari Damacy?????
"rolling to the edge of the world, rolling to the edge of the sea, rolling off the edge of the ocean, hurl into the galaxy......"
or did i have too much coffee????
Hi Surfer Girl
I'm intrigued by the fact that criterion, factor 5 and Kyle Gray are working on the Wii/DS. But i'm also a bit worried that all they'll release for the machine's is the standard low budget, non-gamer, minigame crap that devs are so fond of releasing for the systems.
Am I right to be worried?
Great info surfer girl! But I was just wondering, will there be a sequel to the PS3 warhawk? If you know, what will be some significant differences from it's prequel?
Thank you so much for sharing that music with us. That album is now one of my favourites.
Hey Surfer Girl, I've got four quick questions.
1) Does "Angel Rings" have anything to do with Legend of Dragoon?
2) Will Eternal Sonata see a NA release for PS3?
3) You mentioned a while ago that Rouge Galaxy 2 would be released before Dark Cloud 3. Is there any timeline yet for it's release? Is it even in development yet?
4) Will Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal be a full game, or an only-multiplayer release like Warhawk?
Surfer girl, i want to know this:
Will there be any SatAM/Archie characters in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood?yes or no?
I really hope there will not be there or in any future Sonic RPG.
I forget to ask this:Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is only in the Sonic games continuity right?
anonymous one: M$ says yes, apparently.
el moco: Some Aussie, he sent links to the other singles by the Midnight Juggernauts, unfortunately they were not anywhere near as good as "Into the Galaxy."
felman: There's definitely a new SKU, but surprisingly I've never gotten confirmation that there was ever one with HD-DVD. I wouldn't doubt it though.
lb003g0676: It's not called Ico3. More of the latter, the lack of anyone wearing a full-body wetsuit disappoints. That is definitely not how I get my info, surfing does not fall into the equation for that process.
anonymous two: It comes from the name of New York City mayor William L. Strong (1894-1898, I think), who was elected thanks to the goo-goos (good government guys, came to my mind while typing 'World of Goo'), delivering a temporary blow to the NYC political machine Tammany Hall. I only know of him because he appointed the beloved Teddy Roosevelt to police commissioner.
anonymous three: I wasn't aware they are making one.
anonymous four: What are babbling on about? I moderate comments because certain people have chauvinistic inclinations.
anonymous five: Ask someone who thinks positively of MMOs.
anonymous six: That would make it a remake, this is a port.
1000: An FPS? Sure. Might not be either of those.
anonymous seven: No clue.
anonymous eight: Apparently.
anonymous nine: They will.
drpirate: No clue, it's not as far off as some may think.
el moco: Too much coffee.
julius: They are talented enough to avoid these pitfalls, no reason to be worried.
john: Likely.
Chris Christopherson: 1) Not that I know of. 2) Not that I know of. 3) I did? No, apparently. 4) Fuller than Warhawk.
anonymous ten: I don't know which characters fall into that category. Sure.
1.Ready at Dawn will port Ōkami to the Wii,and they say everything will stay the same.Is this really true or will there be enhancements that will please or disappoint?
2.How is the Wii version of Ōkami compared to the PS2 version?
3.Is there a Dark Cloud 3 in works?
will sony announce big suprises or new exclusiv games for ps3?
Wow that sucks to hear Iron Lore is going out of business :-(
Surfer Girl,a GameFAQ member named "Tfox"(who is known for leaking info about the Advanced Wars series months before their unveiling)has claimed that Roy and Mewtwo will be added to the US/PAL versions of Brawl, while Japan will have them as Downloadable characters.
http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=145144
1.Is this true?
2.If yes are Roy and Mewtwo the only DL characters?(that would suck)
1. Any clue whether Sony give us a world wide PlaystationStore for all people with a mature area?
2. You said Dead Rising will released 2009 for PS3. Do you really mean Dead Rising or Dead Rising 2? Or both?
3. Which console is the lead-platform for Resident Evil 5? I hope the PS3 Version will not be a 360 Port!
Thanks in advance!
1.At the GDC Sakurai said there are no Brawl characters that can be downloaded via connecting to WiiConnect24 or interacting in that fashion because the Wii doesn't have a hard drive,it's a disc-based system he says.
Sakurai only stated Wiiconnect24 or anything in that fashion (such as wifi). So that is still a very small possiblilty for DL characters.
So whats the truth? Is there really DL Brawl characters or not?
2.Nintendo announced the Pay to Play program for Wii,but they didnt say what games or services the payment is for.Is Brawl one of them?
anonymous one: 1) Same. 2) Prettier. 3) Possibly.
anonymous two: Eventually.
anonymous three: Not that I know of.
nick2409: 1) No. 2) DR2. 3) PC, I think.
anonymous four: 1) If he says there are not, then they will not. 2) No.
